The Isle of Lindisfarne (or Holy Island) is located a little over a mile from the English shoreline, into the North Sea. It’s a tidal island and is only accessible twice a day, at low tide. The priory on Holy Island was a site of deep faith and learning, with residents that included St. Cuthbert and the Venerable Bede.
