Our Lenten walk now takes us to Jerusalem and the Pools of Bethesda.
In John’s Gospel, Jesus heals a man who had waited nearly four decades for restoration. For church leaders, this site opens space for pastoral reflection on waiting, healing, and hope—experiences familiar to every community.
Standing above the excavated pools, we often find this an effective place for Scripture reading and brief teaching. Nearby, the Church of St. Anne provides a natural gathering space for prayer or hymn singing, offering pilgrims a moment of beauty and peace amid the city.
Bethesda allows us to connect the Gospel story directly to the lived experiences of those they serve.
